Meetthedoctor

Family First. I love spending time with my family and doing the things that make us smile. I get joy out of watching my children grow and learning to be their own unique person.

My wife and I met in college while attending Oregon State University and have been married since 2007. We have two amazing children, Carson and Josie, and one feline friend. Mostly, I enjoy spending time with my family and making memories together.

Hobbies:

  • Golf: I was on the golf team in high school and enjoy playing as much as a busy dad’s life allows.

  • Homebrewing: I have been making my own beer since longer than I can remember and my home always has a new brew on tap.

  • Camping: During the summer my family has many annual camping traditions and we go on outdoor adventures on as many weekends as possible.

  • Snowboarding: Living in Oregon, I enjoy heading up to Mt. Hood in the winter months.

I am always extremely honored when someone chooses me to be their orthodontist. I feel blessed to be doing what I love and want to share my passion with others. Helping other people enjoy their smile is what I love about my job and it is extremely rewarding to me. At my office, we genuinely care about each and every patient and welcome them like family.
I recognize that each person who seeks my advice for their orthodontic needs is unique, therefore I treat each person with a custom treatment plan. As a Board Certified Orthodontist, I have only the highest standards for treatment. The engineering mind in me looks at each case like a puzzle that needs to be put together to fit perfectly. I have been specially trained to recognize, treat, and prevent any orthodontic issues by straightening the alignment of teeth, correcting misaligned jaw structure and improving the function of your smile.

Attending Oregon Health & Science University where I earned my Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry and my Masters in Science in Orthodontics degree gave me hands-on experience with some of Portland’s top clinicians. I appreciated the thorough research into the techniques I learned and still use these research based techniques in practice today.

“My orthodontics residency was an additional 2.5 years of research and education, which is an advantage when looking for an orthodontist to help you achieve your perfect smile!”

I enjoy staying involved in continuing education and attend courses throughout the year sponsored by the following:

  • Invisalign

  • American Association of Orthodontists

  • Oregon Dental Association

  • Washington County Dental Society

  • American Dental Association

  • Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists

  • Oregon State Society of Orthodontists

  • Spear Education

Having lived in the Portland area my entire life, I believe it is important to be an active member of the community. I support many families and schools in our area and I encourage my team to do the same.

It is an honor that you chose me to be a part of your dental health team and I look forward to meeting you, and your family!

Technology

We are always looking for ways to make the experience more comfortable for our patients. Our technology and appliances Dr. Delplanche uses to straighten your teeth give him more precise control over your treatment plan with better results in less time. We offer quality treatment and care about the appliances we use.

Invisalign & Invisalign Teen

Dr. Delplanche is an Invisalign, Invisaign Teen, and Invisalign First provider. While Invisalign is a great tool for straightening teeth, we are passionate about treating each patient with a custom treatment plan and will recommend the appliance with the best outcome possible. You will need a consultation with Dr. Delplanche to determine if Invisalign is right for you.

  • Discreet treatment
Since Invisalign aligners are almost invisible, it’s hard for others to tell that you are wearing the trays.
  • Fewer office visits
Invisalign uses a series of clear aligner trays which makes office visits less frequent.
  • Treatment on your own terms
The Invisalign trays can be removed if you are planning for an important social event
  • Greater comfort
No poking wires or metal to worry about, Invisalign means less discomfort for you.

Invisalign Questions

How does Invisalign work?
We will take a 3D scan of your teeth and Dr. Delplanche will use these images to create your custom treatment plan from beginning to end. Then, at your first appointment you will receive several series of aligners to change every 1-2 weeks, wearing each aligner 22 hours per day and only removing to eat, drink, brush and floss. Our patients usually come to our office for follow up visits every 8-12 weeks. With the changing of each set of aligners, your teeth will start to move until they are in the final position as Dr. Delplanche has designed in your individualized treatment plan.

Why would I want Invisalign?
Invisible trays can be removed when you want to eat or drink, plus brushing and flossing is much easier too.

3M Mini Metal Braces

We want our patients to have a great experience with braces, that is why we have chosen the specific brackets we use. They are smaller, less irritating to wear and easier to clean. This means less discomfort for you. Our brackets allow Dr. Delplanche to have control over straightening your teeth in precise movements with gentle predictable forces. Our goal is to finish your orthodontic goals on time so that you can get back to doing the things that make you smile.

iTero Digital Scanner for 3D digital imaging and impressionless treatment options

A more comfortable alternative to impressions, we use the iTero Digital Scanner for 3D imaging and impressionless treatment options. With a completed scan in under 3 minutes, Dr. Delplanche can use this tool to show you what your teeth and smile could look like with orthodontic treatment. Gone are the days of gooey impressions, our scanner is the first step to getting your treatment started.
